Chicago PD confiscates AK with rusty mags

Gang enforcement officers with the Chicago Police Department executed a search Tuesday that yielded a slew of goodies.

In addition to $13,500 in cash, officers found 1,580 grams of cannabis with an estimated street value of around $25,000, a scale, and packaging materials.

Also recovered was a Hungarian AMD-65 AK-47 rifle with a black finish that’s seen better days and definitely has not been routinely cleaned. Two 30-round magazines, two 50-round magazines, and a 75-round drum – all complete with a rusted finish – were confiscated as well, in addition to 17 7.62×39 rounds, a dozen 9mm rounds, and one small grab-bag of bullets of varying calibers.
