SilencerCo Maxim pistol now shipping

SilercerCo’s handgun equipped with an integrated silencer is now shipping to stores, according to an announcement this week.

“Regardless of which configuration you use, the Maxim 9 represents one of the greatest strides made in both pistol and suppressor technology,” the company says. “No more choosing between keeping your pistol as short as possible and enduring deafening sound or adding a silencer and dealing with the added length and weight.”

The company calls the Maxim 9 is the first integrally suppressed 9mm handgun that fits in a holster and touts that it reduces the sound of a gunshot to safe levels with all 9mm ammunition.

SilencerCo says the Maxim ships in its full-length configuration and comes with everything the user needs to shorten the overall length by more than 1 inch.

The Maxim features ambidextrous controls, a key-mod interface that allows for the addition of a rail and light or laser, the design is precut for micro red-dot optics, and uses standard Glock magazines.

The Maxim is equipped with a 4.38-inch barrel, length is 9.54- or 10.75-inches long, and weighs in at around 2.5 pounds. Retails price is $1,499.
