400-year-old musket balls still work just fine when loaded in a shotgun (VIDEO)

Gifted a sack of relic musket balls from the 1600s dug up around the British Isles, the shotgun squad at Taofledermaus loaded them up in hulls and took to the range.

Stuffing them into 12 gauge hulls with the base filled with a bit of silly putty, these “dropped” post-medieval balls are about as accurate at close range as they were back in the day– though they do manage to amp up the velocity over what the old smoothbore black powder smoke poles typically generated.
