Trijicon continues to expand its lineup of optics, adding the new RMR type 2 reflex optic designed for pistol shooters.

The Rugged Miniature Reflex, or RMR, is available in three models — the Adjustable LED, Dual-Illuminated (battery free) and LED with aiming dot sizes ranging from 1.0 MOA to 13 MOA.

The sight deploys new electronics that offer durability in harsh environments. Constructed from 7075-T6 aluminum to MIL-spec standards, the RMR Type 2 provides a durable reflex sight. Its patented shape absorbs impacts and diverts stress away from the lens while the compact and lightweight design withstands the rigors of hard use and environmental conditions.

The RMR is packed with features. A Button Lock Out Mode prevents accidental adjustments to preferred brightness. Battery Conservation Mode adjusts the aiming dot to ambient lighting conditions after 16.5 hours without a button push. This mode is designed to extend battery life. Utilizing a CR2032 lithium battery lasts up to two years in the LED version and up to four years in the Adjustable LED model at mid-setting.

The RMR Type 2 offers a bright illuminated aiming point for instant target acquisition under multiple conditions. The optic is also parallax-free resulting in a “point and shoot” operation. In addition, the optic serves up audible windage and elevation adjustments allowing for quick and easy zeroing — no special tools required. The new Type 2 is compatible with all existing RMR mounts and optics-ready pistols.

The Adjustable LED retails for $699 while the Dual-Illuminated comes in slightly cheaper at $577. The LED version slides into the mid-range spot, priced at $649.
