Man leads police on pursuit with toddler in tow (VIDEO)

A South Carolina father is facing numerous charges after he led police on a high-speed chase last weekend in Richland County. The chase, and the dramatic moments the suspect struggled with authorities while holding his 2-year-old daughter, was caught on camera during the A&E show “Live PD.”

Bryan Allan Martin, 22, was charged with reckless driving, driving under suspension, failure to stop for blue lights, resisting arrest, simple possession of marijuana and child endangerment. He is being held on a $103,000 bond.

The pursuit began after officers responded to multiple calls about shots fired at a large house party. Officers quickly located Martin, who was driving in his car, but he refused to pull over and led police on a chase that reached nearly 10 miles per hour. All the while, his little girl was in the back seat.

The high-speed chase eventually came to halt when Martin flipped his car. Moments later, Martin emerged from the vehicle with his 2-year-old daughter wrapped in one arm as he struggled with an officer with the other arm. During the struggle, the officer could be heard saying, “That’s your baby!”

Authorities said had they known the suspect had his toddler in tow, they would not have pursued him but rather waited until a later date to identify and apprehend him.

The little girl, who is now in the custody of family members, was initially said to be uninjured during the incident. However, a secondary examination revealed the child suffered a broken arm, which was apparently missed during the initial exam.
