Sniper rifle of the Rising Sun: The Japanese Type 99 Arisaka (VIDEO)

Squarely putting the “military” in the Military Arms Channel, Tim takes an in-depth look at a WWII-era Nagoya Type 99 Arisaka sniper rifle chambered in 7.7x58mm.

The sniper version of the Type 99 used several different low-power scopes and was selected right off the factory line to undergo conversion from the standard infantry rifle to a more precision marksman gun.

While outclassed by most other sniper rifles of the conflict, it was still effective in trained, determined hands, and the example Tim has is fairly complete (except for the ‘mum) and includes a 4x fixed scope.
