Beretta launches a new addition to the APX polymer pistol lineup, introducing a .40 S&W model to the striker-fired series.

Designed specifically for military and law enforcement operators, the handgun has been extensively tested and evaluated to deliver durability and reliability paired with an ergonomic, modular design. Using a removable, serialized chassis frame, the APX can be modified with replaceable grip frame housings. In addition, Beretta says the APX’s design allows it to be easily disassembled for maintenance and cleaning.

The new .40 S&W model boasts similar features and dimensions as its 9mm compadre, measuring in at an overall length of 7.55-inches with a 4.25-inch barrel. The pistol weighs slightly more than the 9m model, tipping the scales at 28.92 ounces in comparison to the 9mm model’s 28.24-ounce unloaded weight.

The .40 S&W model boasts two capacities, with one version holding 10 rounds and the other accepting up to 15 rounds. The newest APX features the same price tag as the original with a MSRP of $575.
