A 3-year-old child fatally shot a man outside of a Warrenville, South Carolina, home Tuesday afternoon, and now the child’s father – who gave the boy the weapon – is facing charges.
Authorities say Albert Davis, 31, gave his preschooler a loaded gun and instructed him to chase another man around the yard. The child did as instructed, and at some point, pulled the trigger, striking 24-year-old Timothy Johnson in the chest.
Johnson died from his injuries, and now, Davis is charged with murder, possession of a stolen handgun and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine why Davis gave his child a gun and other questions surrounding the case.
