A New York mother is facing multiple charges after she allegedly robbed a Long Island bank last week as her 10-month-old child sat in the getaway car.

Police say 20-year-old Madison Munoz, of Shirley, left the baby boy in her car and entered the Bridgehampton National Bank just before 10 a.m. on Oct. 18, and handed the teller a note demanding money.

The teller gave up the cash and Munoz walked out and drove away, her child in tow. Witnesses provided a description of Munoz’s vehicle to authorities, who located the car a short time later in Shirley, which is about 30 miles from the bank.

Munoz was apprehended and charged with third-degree robbery and endangering the welfare of a child. The child was given to family members and Suffolk County Child Protective Services are investigating.
