13-year-old charged after killing 10-year-old with crossbow (VIDEO)

A 13-year-old boy is in police custody after he shot two kids with a crossbow, fatally wounding one, Saturday evening outside of home in Lincoln County, Oklahoma.

Authorities say the arrow traveled through 10-year-old Austin Almanza’s midsection, then struck his 8-year-old brother, Ayden, in the arm. Austin was pronounced dead at the scene. Ayden was treated and released the following day.

Lincoln County Sheriff Charles Dougherty said the act was not an accident and the three boys were engaged in a dispute before the shooting occurred. However, there are conflicting stories about what exacted led up to the act.

The 13-year-old neighbor, whose name has not been released, was arrested and remains in a juvenile detention facility.
