Smith & Wesson brings a new rifle to its M&P series, introducing the M&P10 Sport Rifle chambered in .308 Win/7.62×51 NATO to the company’s M&P10 lineup.

The rifle boasts a medium-contour 16-inch barrel with .30-caliber A2-style flash suppressor. Equipped with ambidextrous controls for both righties and lefties, the rifle comes with a mid-length gas operating system and optics-ready configuration.

The semi-automatic M&P10 Sport comes with a 6-position telescopic stock as well as corrosion resistant Armornite finish on both the interior and exterior of the barrel. Sporting an overall length of 34-inches and tipping scales at 8-pounds, the long gun features a capacity of 20 rounds.

Smith & Wesson said it’s proud to continue offering customers more innovation and options on the M&P lineup.

M&P brand general manager, Jan Mladek, said when Smith & Wesson released the M&P10 rifle in 2013, it quickly became a popular choice with buyers. ”The M&P10 Sport rifle offers consumers a top performing modern sporting rifle at a competitive price, and is well suited for target, hunting and competitive sport shooting,” Mladek said in a statement.

The rifle features a MSRP of $1,049.
