Safariland delivers more options to concealed carriers toting light equipped handguns, introducing the new Model 557 holster.

The Model 557 was designed with light bearing handguns in mind, featuring a two-in-one holster design. The rig boasts the capability to fit firearms with or without a mounted light. Safariland says this setup is ideal for those carrying light-bearing pistols. The 557 sports an ejection port detent that grips the ejection port of the firearm, securing it in the holster.

“Typically, without a light, a concealed carry, close-to-the-body-designed holster may have wiggle room and the handgun could wobble around. The Safariland 557 eliminates this issue since it secures the weapon even without the light,” James Dawson, duty gear category director at Safariland, said in a press release. “It’s the ideal holster if you’re on a plain clothes 12-hour shift and don’t want to change your holster once you remove your light.”

The holster touts a low-profile style that fits 1.5-inch to 1.75-inch width belts. Compatible gun models include:

  • Glock 17/22, 19/23, 34/35
  • Heckler & Koch P30
  • Sig Sauer P320
  • Smith & Wesson M&P 9/40
  • Walther P99Q

Additionally, the holster supports the following weapon lights: Streamlight TLR-1 and TLR-1HL, Surefire X200 and X300/X300U lights as well as red dot equipped pistols.

The Model 557 is available now, in black or Flat Dark Earth Brown, with a price tag of $50.
