Kinetic Development Group rolls out new colors on its popular FN Scar Charging Handle, affectionately known as the Scarging Handles.

Offered in matte Black Cerakote and Flat Dark Earth, the Scarging Handles feature a low carbon 1080 steel, heat treated construction with a mil-spec finish for durability. The design is topped off with Cerakote, improving overall ruggedness.

The charging handles fit both the 5.56 and 7.62 NATO Scar variants, installing in just a few seconds, says Kinetic Development Group. The handles design allows users a more solid grasp during manipulation of the bolt, granting shooters more overall leverage.

Users have their pick of either left or right side installation, with the Scarging Handle capable of rotating to either a downward or upward sweep.

“The downward sweep protects the hand from busted knuckles caused by optics mounts and other accessories by keeping it down and away from the weapon’s top,” the company said in a statement.

“The Scarging Handle can alternatively be installed with the curve upward, which provides the user a slick side receiver to prevent snagging or ‘Scar Thumb’ (i.e. having the reciprocating charging handle strike your hand if using a magwell hold or unconventional shooting position).”

Both the Black Cerakote and FDE Scarging Handles are available from Kinetic Development Group with a price tag just under $50.
