Black Wood USA brings a classic look and feel to the AR-15 platform, launching new English Walnut grips.

Made through a partnership between Black Wood USA and Indian Creek Designs, the grip panels mesh the 1911 style with the functionality of the AR-15 platform. Black Wood capitalized on ICD’s aluminum grip frame which allows gun owners to add 1911 grip panels to AR-15s. Blackwood CEO William Mengon said the company’s grip panel design still allows the AR-15 to operate as intended.

“ICD has developed a solid platform, partnering with them was a natural choice,” Mengon said in a press release. “We’ve spent the past year designing, prototyping, and gathering feedback from our customers. These grips are the first of a suite of products we’ve developed through that process.”

Starting as a solid block of English Walnut, the wood is CNC machined into right and left grip panels. The panels are then hand sanded and sealed for durability. Available in either smooth or grooved panels, the Black Wood USA English Walnut grips for the AR-15 platform start at $100.
