Sig Sauer continues its roll out of new calibers in its ammunition inventory, adding the ever-popular 6.5 Creedmoor to the Sig HT hunting ammo series.

The Sig HT series is premium-grade, copper lineup designed specifically for hunters. According to Sig Sauer, the 6.5 Creedmoor boasts an all-copper bullet that provides deep penetration with consistent expansion. The 120-grain bullet boasts a muzzle velocity of 2,126 ft-pounds, capable of downing medium-sized game.

“The 6.5 Creedmoor is one of the hottest loads on the market and is increasingly popular with hunters due to its high ballistic coefficient which allows it to push through wind with less drag, delivering a flat trajectory and minimal recoil,” Bud Fini, Executive Vice President of the Sig Sauer Ammunition Division and Special Projects, said in a press release. “In addition to the SIG HT hunting round, Sig Sauer also offers a 6.5 Creedmoor Match Grade OTM load featuring a 140gr Sierra MatchKing bullet.”

The Sig HT line offers nickel-plated shell cases and flash-reduced propellant to lessen visible signature in low-light shooting scenarios. The series already touts four calibers — 300BLK, 223 Rem, 308 Win and 300 Win Mag — in addition to the new 6.5 Creedmoor.

No details have been offered on availability or pricing, but Sig’s HT line starts at $20 with .223 Rem and tops out at $55 for .300 Win Mag.
