homeowner kills intruder

Raleigh policy say a weekend shooting that killed one and injured two was self-defense, according to reports. The unidentified homeowner fired at two intruders trying to enter his home during the early morning incident.

A neighbor calling 911 told dispatchers that someone rang her doorbell and then ran off. Moments later, she heard six gunshots and someone yelling for help.

When police arrived, they found the homeowner’s 11-year-old son with serious injuries. Police say 19-year-old Deandre Carney died from his injuries and 22-year-old Willie Richardson was injured in the shooting.

Richardson was transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds. Authorities charged him with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, first-degree burglary, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
