Weakening the 2nd Amendment only empowers two groups: the government and criminals. I stand with our Founders who believed in the individual over the government. As governor, I won't give an inch on your God-given right to protect yourself and your family.
A Georgia Republican seeking to move into the Governor’s Mansion reaches for the rafters when it comes to supporting gun rights.
Hunter Hill, a West Point graduate and Afghanistan vet, posted the short clip on the right to keep and bear arms to social media this week. In just over a minute, Hill loads a 30-round PMAG, inserts it into a Smith & Wesson M&P-15 AR-style rifle, checks the loaded mag in a Colt 1911, holds up a copy of the Constitution and gets some rounds on target — all while advocating permitless carry rights and dropping the age to purchase all guns to 18.
“Weakening the 2nd Amendment only empowers two groups: the government and criminals. I stand with our Founders who believed in the individual over the government,” he said.
Hill faces a crowded field of Republican candidates in an upcoming primary next month including current Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and Secretary of State Brian Kemp. He formerly served in the Georgia Senate representing the Smyrna area, home to Glock’s U.S. operations. The overall winner of the election in November would take the place of term-limited Republican Gov. Nathan Deal.
State Sen. Michael Williams, who is also running for governor and was connected with a variety of pro-gun legislation in the past, argues that Hill is weak when it comes to the Second Amendment and is trying to play voters.
Hunter Hill says one thing about gun rights while he's sitting next to Democrat Stacey Evans and another thing when he's confronted by Georgia's largest pro-Second Amendment organization about his gun control!Georgia can't trust Hunter Hill won't swing the wrong way on gun rights.Read more about Hunter Hill's poor record on gun rights here: https://williamsgeorgia.com/hunter-hill-liberal-on-guns/
