Houston woman claims shooting self-defense, police say incident could be ‘domestic disturbance’ (VIDEO)

A Houston woman claims self-defense in the shooting death of her boyfriend, according to reports.

Authorities say the couple, who have not been identified by name, were arguing because the woman wanted to leave the man. They lived together in an apartment complex. They started fighting and it ended when the woman shot the man.

“We believe it could be a domestic disturbance, but we’ll know more when we question her, get downtown and she decides to talk,” said Detective K. Heaverlo with HPD Homicide.

When police arrived, they found the man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital where he later died.

Detectives think the gun recovered at the scene could be stolen, but they still investigating the incident. They said the woman is cooperating with authorities.
