Husband shoots robber holding wife at gunpoint--in the head (VIDEO)

A Houston area man grabbed his gun when he heard the men outside with his wife in a situation that ended with one would-be robber in the hospital.

The incident occurred July 17 at about 10:30 p.m. in the South Acres area of Houston, Lt. Larry Crowson of the Houston Police Department told Chron.com. The unidentified husband exchanged gunfire with the two robbers, who approached his wife in the driveway and attempted to force their way into the home.

While the residents were uninjured, one of the men, shot in the head, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition while the other fled on foot.
