Adding to its inventory of hearing protection, Walker’s announced its XCEL earmuff series is headed out the factory doors and to retailer’s shelves.

The XCEL Series offers two models — the 100 and 500BT — both delivering an ergonomic and user friendly interface. The XCEL series moves the microphones and control panel from the earmuffs to the headband, delivering a more comfortable earmuff that performs better according to Walker’s.

“The XCEL muffs take a completely fresh approach to form and ergonomics by relocating the user interface and microphones from the ear cups to a slim control panel that is integrated into the headband,” Walker’s said in a press release. “Relocating the electronics as well as the battery compartment to the headband takes weight off the ears while optimizing overall balance for hours of shooting comfort.”

The added space on the ear cups allows the XCEL to provide a 26 NRR sound reduction rating. The XCEL models introduce a digital chipset with new technology that automatically adjusts compression time for noise level intensity and duration. The user-adjustable earmuffs offer four listenting models that are selected via soft-touch operation buttons on the control panel. The listening modes include Universal, Speech Clarity, High Frequency and Power Boost.

The series also sports an auto shut-off function in order to save battery life. The XCEL 100 and bluetooth enabled XCEL 500BT are priced at $100 and $150, respectively.
