Savage Arms unleashes MSR 10 Long Range in 6mm Creedmoor

Savage Arms ups the ante on its MSR lineup, offering a new model in the way of the MSR 10 Long Range now chambered in the popular 6mm Creedmoor caliber.

Originally chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Win, the MSR 10 Long Range model uses a compact frame paired with a non-reciprocating side-charging handle. Featuring a two-stage trigger using a nickel boron treatment, the rifle also boasts a Magpul PRS adjustable buttstock and upgraded Savage barrel. The barrel offers 5R rifling in addition to a Melonite QPQ finish. The rifle is topped off with a 10-round magazine, free-float M-LOK rail and Blackhawk Knoxx AR Pistol Grip.

“Savage’s semi-automatic MSR 10 Long Range takes the popular AR-10 platform to new heights, offering greater performance, expanded caliber choices and a modern design, plus a full suite of custom upgrades packaged as standard features,” Savage Arms said in a news release.

Built on the 6.5 Creedmoor case, the 6mm Creedmoor offers a necked-down design created to hold a .243 diameter bullet. The cartridge’s construction results in a fast and flat trajectory ideal for long range shooting. The case itself allows for plenty of room for the long. heavy bullets while also pairing with short action rifle platforms. The 6mm Creedmoor caliber is gaining in popularity among long range and precision shooters as the round has the added benefit of less recoil.

The MSR 10 Long Range chambered in 6mm Creedmoor is available from dealers and distributors nationwide with a MSRP of $2,284.
