Thompson Auto-Ordnance continues its commitment to memorializing World War II, introducing a new commemorative Tommy Gun called the Tanker WWII Thompson.

The WWII themed Tanker Thompson pays homage to the nearly 50,000 Shermans that were produced during the war. Each Thompson in the series features an Army O.D. Green Cerakote as well as the white star of the Sherman Tank engraved in front of the magwell. The rifle also showcases the U.S. logo engraved on the buttstock.

The Tanker Thompson offers a 16-inch barrel nestled into a high grade walnut frame. Chambered in .45 ACP, the rifle tops off its accoutrements with a vertical foregrip as well as a 30- and 20-round stick magazines, Kerr sling and mag pouch.

“‘Built like a tank’ is a phrase that has entered the American lexicon as a means to describe hardware that is durable, strong and nearly indestructible. The term may have originated in describing armored fighting vehicles, but it also clearly describes the Tommy Gun,” Thompson Auto-Ordnance said in a news release. “It is only fitting then, that Auto-Ordnance continue the series of WWII commemorative guns with the ‘Tanker Thompson,’ dedicated to the memory of the brave American soldiers who faced the enemy in steel chariots like the M4 Sherman Tank.”

The Tanker WWII Thompson is available now with a MSRP of $1,749.
