Springfield Armory adds 10mm to RO Elite pistol series (VIDEO)
Springfield Armory expands its RO Elite 1911 series, adding a 10mm model into the lineup for competition shooters and hunters.
The RO Elite 10mm model sports a 5-inch match grade, stainless steel barrel inside a forged steel frame and slide. The components are precision-fit to ensure a flawless function and performance, according to Springfield Armory. The 1911 delivers a Black-T finish that resists corrosion as well as self-lubricates to tackle harsh environments.
The pistol is outfitted with an 18.5-pound recoil spring to reduce felt recoil and offer a smoother shooting platform. The RO Elite is finished off with a Picatinny rail, Gen 2 speed trigger and custom thin-line G-10 grips.

“The forged slide and frame, the heart and soul of Springfield Armory 1911s, sets this gun apart from competitors’ cast models on the market by surpassing them in both strength and durability,” Springfield Armory said in a news release. “Springfield Armory engineers specifically designed the RO Elite 10mm to offer superior performance in the face of repeated recoil and have built an incredibly strong 1911 that will last lifetimes.”
Available now, the Springfield Armory RO Elite chambered in 10mm is priced at $1,145.
