Stoeger released its first pistol in about five years — filling the need for a polymer-frame striker-fired handgun chambered in 9mm — at SHOT Show 2019 in Las Vegas. After three years in development at the company’s manufacturing facility in Turkey, the STR-9 handgun is available now for $299.

“It’s an outstanding gun for the price. Great for concealed carry, home defense, plinking, really reliable gun,” said Keith Heinlein, a Stoeger product manager. He explained that besides the price, the trigger is the design’s strongest feature. “It’s got a good trigger in terms of the trigger pull weight as well as the take up and the reset. It’s all very strong,” he added.
