Among the nearly one-dozen variants of Marlin’s venerable 336-series of lever action rifles is now a model with a curly maple stock for those who prefer blondes.

On display at SHOT Show in Las Vegas this month was the Remington subsidiary’s new 336C series rifle. Chambered in .30-30 Winchester, the 336C shows off a set of standard maple furniture along with a 20-inch 1-in-20-inch twist Micro-Groove barrel that translates to a 40.5-inch overall length.

The 336C seen in Las Vegas last week, center, among the likes of a stainless M1895 Trapper with a big-loop lever and a traditional M1895 with Marlin’s more common American black walnut furniture.

The gun uses the same iconic 336 action, which dates back to Marlin’s golden days in the 1940s. The 336C has a six-round magazine capacity and an MSRP of $899.
