The Safariland Group, well know for their excellent duty holsters and competition gear, released two new bags at SHOT show geared toward the range enthusiast and 3 gun shooters. Both bags show the level of detail you expect from Safariland with some nice touches that show they are actively involved in the shooting sports.
The Shooters Range Backpack, which should be available for purchase starting in February 2019, has a number of great features for a trip to the range and is perfect for competition shooters and everyday shooters. A couple of very nice features include the belt holder, which lets you strap your range belt directly to the bag, and the reinforced bottom compartment. This lower compartment lets you store all your ammunition because it has a rigid top section, your guns and other heavy items above will not squash your boxes.

The Range Backpack has well thought out storage sections with pockets for everything and will keep your gear organized well. Plus, the bag comes with it’s own rain fly that you can put over it to keep your equipment dry, because every good shooter knows, “You ain’t training unless it’s raining.” Also, according to Bobby McGee, Director of Research and Development, “you can use it as a laptop bag and use it as a carry on, making it very versatile.” McGee also indicated that the bag will be available in Gray, Coyote (FDE), and Black.

The other bag introduced this year at SHOT is the new Enhanced 3 Gun Bag. This new competition bag has been tailored to the growing 3 Gun market with several features specific to 3 gunners. The bag overall is longer than a standard rifle size bag to accommodate the longer extension tubes and barrels on the competition shotguns. One very unique feature is a little pop out section that lets you extend the bag even further for those really long extension tubes.
Large front pockets help you keep your shotshells organized and gives plenty of space for rifle and pistol ammunition as well. The generous magazine space allows for 4 pistol magazines and 5 rifle magazines. It will accommodate AR15 and AR10 size rifle mags. The bag can be carried by back pack straps, shoulder slung, or by the handles. This bag is sure to be a big hit for 3 gun competitors and enthusiasts alike. Like the Range Backpack the Enhanced 3 Gun Bag will be available in February 2019.
Precision rifle is one of the world's fastest growing shooting sports. Today I present to you one example of the rifles driving this craze: the Savage 110 Elite Precision in 6.5 Creedmoor married to a Modular Driven Technologies ACC chassis.
In today’s market, the term “budget” typically doesn’t mean the same thing it did even just a few years ago. However, ATI has managed to keep the price of its base Milsport AR-15 models to a truly budget price, with an MSRP of only $529.95.
Glock has caught flack in the past from gun critics claiming that the company periodically re-releases the same pistol, renamed with only aesthetic changes. I would disagree. Let’s take a look at the Glock 19 Gen 5, and I’ll show you why.
