A look at the improved Gen 4 Diamondback DB9 pistol (VIDEOS)

Cocoa, Florida-based Diamondback Firearms has a new version of their striker-fired compact DB9 pistol available for 2019. The Gen 4 model of the single-stack 9mm handgun includes updated internals, a new slide stop, an improved trigger with a short reset, enhanced grip texture and a pinky extension. Best of all, it also now has Glock-compatible sights.

The DB9 was first introduced a decade ago and, with a weight of just 11-ounces while maintaining a 3-inch barrel, the little pistol still offered a 6+1 capacity at a retail price under $300. Speaking of which, MSRP on the Gen 4 DB9 is $269.

According to federal regulators, Diamondback produced 24,270 handguns in 2017 — the most recent statistics available– including 14,672 chambered in 9mm.

704 Tactical and Graham Baates have had their hands on one of these new model DBs and have their thoughts, below.
