Ruger Reboots The Hawkeye Alaskan Rifle

Chambered in .375 Ruger, .338 Win Mag, and .300 Win Mag, the newly reintroduced Hawkeye Alaskan is billed by Ruger as a rugged rifle optimized for big game hunting.
Based on the company’s Guide Gun platform, the Alaskan comes standard with a black Hogue OverMolded synthetic stock, an LC6 trigger and a matte stainless steel finish. Across all three caliber options, the rifle uses a muzzle brake system and a 20-inch barrel which gives an overall length of 42-inches. Weight, due to the solid steel receiver and hinged floorplate, is around 8 pounds.
While all three chamberings come standard with a 5-groove 20-inch barrel, the .300 and .338 use a 1:10 RH twist while the .375 Ruger is a 1:12.
The removable, radial-port muzzle brake, which Ruger bills as significantly reducing felt recoil, comes with a dynamically-matched muzzle weight that can be used to avoid a shift in bullet’s point of impact if it is removed. Although a windage-adjustable rear sight and front bead are standard, the series also comes with integral scope mounts machined directly on the receiver.
The rifles ship with scope rings and have a MSRP of $1279.
