Sig Sauer Academy adds to its course load, revealing a new concealed carry course specifically catering to ladies.

The aptly titled Women’s Concealed Carry course joins the training series in April, bringing an all-female instructor lineup. Designed to help women better carry for self-defense, the course covers all areas of concealed carry life. Sig Sauer says attendees can expect to receive instruction on choosing the perfect EDC gun, dressing for concealed carry and how body mechanics impact carry.

Additionally, female students will gain knowledge on how to present from concealment and adequately use cover. Scott Reidy, Director of Training for Sig Sauer Academy, explained to Guns.com in an email that with more women entering the concealed carry arena, additional training opportunities are needed.

“With more and more women choosing to conceal carry we’ve seen an increased interest at the Academy for courses specifically tailored to females,” Reidy said. “The Women’s Concealed Carry course was developed by the top female instructors at the Sig Sauer Academy, and has an increased focus on holstering, carrying, and tactics to successfully overcome a life-threatening situation.”

Reidy added that attendees will be taught by other women. “Additionally, this course is taught by female instructors which offer the students a class environment exclusively for women where they can come together to learn from one another to improve their skills and embrace the concealed carry lifestyle.”

The inaugural class is set to kick off on April 18, 2019 with more classes set for the future. Students will also get to test out a swath of concealed carry specific firearms, including Sig Sauer’s own P365. The two-Day course is priced at $500.
