Springfield Armory Grows Saint Victor Line to .308 (VIDEO)

Springfield Armory is pitching their new Saint Victor installment as a serious .308 without the bulk of a more traditional AR-10. Categorizing the new offering as the “ultimate lightweight personal defense rifle,” the 7.8-pound rifle is chambered for the .308 Winchester/7.62 NATO cartridge.

The “.308 without the weight” billing largely comes from the use of a short, 16-inch, 1-in-10-inch twist lightweight profile barrel coupled with 7075 T6 aluminum receivers and a 15-inch aluminum free float M-Lok handguard.

Other standard features are an enhanced nickel boron-coated single-stage flat trigger as well as a Bravo Company grip and six-position stock that allows the overall length to vary between 37.75-inches when fully extended to 34.5inches, collapsed.

The rifle utilizes a muzzle brake, Melonite-finished 9130 bolt, GI-style charging handle, and includes a heavy tungsten buffer in the buffer assembly. There are QD mounts built into the end plate and stock for sling attachments.

MSRP is set at $1,399
