Armscor/Rock Island Armory announced Wednesday it is building up its AR-style shotgun line with a new 20-gauge installment for 2021, the VR82.

The company introduced the 12-gauge VR80 model at SHOT Show 2019, causing a stir in the industry. The new VR82 follows the same path but, due to its 20-gauge format, is pitched to junior shooters. Constructed with 7075 T6 aluminum receivers, the VR82 features a BufferTHS thumbhole stock – needed for importation – that is compatible with most commercial buffer tube stocks and pistol grips.

With an 18-inch barrel that features a Mobil choke, the VR82 runs 38-inches long overall. Magazine capacity is 5 shots. Note the side-charging action and ambi surface controls. (Photo: Armscor/RIA)
Loaded weight is 8.5-pounds and the shotgun ships with flip-up sights on a top Pic rail, with ample slots for aftermarket accessories. (Photo: Armscor/RIA)

MSRP on the VR82 is $729.
