5.11, the apparel company best known for serving the tactical market with all its needs, has released its 2021 lineup, and it’s bound to make fans happy. Let’s take a look at what the innovator in tactical apparel has rolled up its sleeve this year.

Rush 2.0 Backpack

5.11 tags its series of Rush backpacks as the “original tactical backpack.” The company claims they’ve been carried on over 1 million missions and hauled more than 37 million pounds. With that sort of reputation on the line, it must seem hard to innovate. Yet 5.11 has launched an update to the Rush, aptly named Rush 2.0. They built upon the tough and durable all-nylon construction of the previous model and added features like a padded laptop compartment and a hidden concealed carry compartment.

Other updates to the lineup include a relocated hydration port, a larger fleece-lined eyewear and media pocket, and new color options to stay on-trend. The Rush 2.0 series of backpacks starts with an MSRP of $109.99 and ranges up to $189.99, depending on the desired size.

New Clothing Options for Men

While 5.11 has been adding a bevy of new products and expanding its lineup in recent years, its staple has been apparel. Men’s clothing has a few new items added that include new shorts and new shirts as well. But the item that really caught our eye was the Ridge pant.

Ridge pants feature a comfort waist construction that has reinforced belt loops and some cool hidden pockets. The side cargo pockets are sleek and have dividers, so you can easily store extra mags. An updated fit, along with durable construction, means these will be your next range pants for sure. The Ridge Pant has an MSRP of $84.99.

New Clothing Options for Women

As with the men’s apparel, 5.11 released a laundry list of new items for women. But two items really stood out for us. The Kaia Tight is a lightweight pant that is made more for working out with its moisture-wicking fabric. The tights also feature a hidden pocket in the waistband, along with side pockets to keep valuables inside. The Kaia Tight has an MSRP of $64.99.

The Shella Pant offers a sensible women’s alternative for range pants that will hold up to all-day training. The pants are built with the company’s poly-elastane blend, four-way stretch Enduro-Flex fabric. The pants feature two cargo pockets and zippered back pockets to keep your valuables secure. Finally, the reinforced belt loops ensure that your gun stays exactly where you want it. The Shella Pant has an MSRP of $75.99.

New Footwear

5.11 has proven to not only have comfortable range gear to wear but comfortable footwear as well. This year 5.11 is re-vamping its A.T.L.A.S. lineup to be more streamlined and include even more options. Look for its new A/T series based on the A.T.L.A.S. technology to include the A/T 8 HD Boot and the A/T 6 Side Zip Boot. These professional models of boots are sure to comfortable to wear all day long and provide all the support needed to stay on your feet for hours. You can find the A/T 6 for an MSRP of $99.99 and the A/T 8 for an MSRP of $149.99.

For something a little more "off duty," 5.11 has released the Norris Sneaker this year. This stylish sneaker is made of nylon and suede in the upper with a stitched rubber toe cap for durability. It will be offered in both a mid-top and low-top variety in a few different colors. You can already find the Norris mid top in Ranger Green, Dark Coyote, and Black with an MSRP of $99.99, and you can expect to see a multi-cam version dropping soon. The low-top variety will be available in the fall with an MSRP of $94.99.

EDC Tools & More Due This Summer

Other items that piqued our interest were the Peacemaker series of knives and tomahawk. These were introduced as a collaboration with Justin Gingrich, a leader in the tactical cutlery industry. He is known for some of the most sought-after designs for tactical knives and tomahawks. With this knowledge, he worked with 5.11 to offer a full-tang, all-steel constructed knife and tomahawk set. The set is sure to be a hit with fans at a starting MSRP of $129.99.
