Knoxville, Tennessee-based SDS Imports this week announced the newest addition to their stable, the 1911 Bantam Carry pistol.

Produced by Tisas in Turkey, who has been in the firearms business for 30 years and has a good reputation for their M1911-style and other handguns, the Bantam Carry is available in both 9mm and .45 ACP. Shipping with Series 70 internals, a forged steel Commander-length slide over a bobbed aluminum frame, and a list of other features, the new pistol is pitched by SDS as an exceptionally nice low-profile M1911 that is optimized for carry while still being affordable.

"Our customers kept asking us for a 1911 with more features and we think the Bantam will fill that need," said Dave Biggers, V.P. of sales and marketing.
