Springfield Armory on Thursday announced a new – carry-friendly and optics-ready –10mm pistol in its XD-M Elite series

The new XD-M Elite 3.8 Compact OSP brings with it 11+1 rounds of the popular 10mm round that, with its extended magwell removed, can also accept full-size 15-round magazines. Featuring fully ambidextrous controls, the company's upgraded META trigger, and a slide cut that allows the use of common red dot optics through a range of interchangeable mounting plates, SA terms the new pistol as one that offers "fight-stopping performance in an extremely capable CCW-sized package."

The newest XD-M is available from the factory packaged with a HEX Dragonfly 3.5 MOA red dot optic for an MSRP of $818. The asking price on the pistol without the red dot is $633. Either way, the carry-sized 10mm comes with a fiber-optic front and Tactical Rack U-Dot rear sight already installed as well as two 11-round stainless-steel mags.
