Kimber has debuted new variants in the company's popular top-shelf Rapide series of M1911s to include the Rapide Dawn and Rapide Scorpius.
The new pistols feature the same stainless-steel slides with stepped cocking serrations and slide lightening cuts as seen in Kimber's other Rapides such as the Black Ice. The stainless-steel frame utilizes Kimber’s Stiplex textured front strap, along with G-10 grips, creating a secure grip surface area. Whereas the Rapide Black Ice comes in 10mm, .45 ACP, and 9mm, the new Dawn and Scorpius are offered in 9mm only.

The Rapide Scorpius goes darker with a black KimPro II finish, black DLC barrel, and black G-10 grips. (Photos: Kimber)
Both new Rapide models use 5-inch stainless-steel, match-grade barrels with a 1:16 left-hand twist and carry a 12-pound recoil spring. Shipping with a single nine-round magazine, they come standard with Tru-Glo TFX Pro Day/Night sights with Kimber's familiar orange front ring. When it comes to specs, the Dawn and Scorpius models measure 8.7 inches long and hit the scales at a solid 40 ounces.
