As part of its centennial celebration this year, Minnesota-based Federal Ammunition has a variety of commemorative shotshell packages planned.
In a salute to its bread and butter field load shotgun shell trade from the days of Pennsylvania Tuxedos and hunting license badge buttons, Federal will be shipping a variety of otherwise standard No. 8 12 gauge shells in four different throwback packages with Hi-Power and Monark branding.
Regardless of the packaging, all will contain Federal's clay-crushing Top Gun 12 Gauge loads in 2.75-inch hulls utilizing 1 1/8 ounces of No. 8 shot charge, which typically carries 461 lead pellets to a velocity of 1,200 fps. The shells use a unique wad column for consistent patterns and high-quality hard shot with a consistent Federal primer.
"If you are a collector of hunting products or a fan of Federal Ammunition, you will want to make sure to add some anniversary-edition shotshell packages to your collection,” said Rick Stoeckel, Federal’s product director of shotshell ammunition. "Not only do these classic designs point back to the rich history of Federal Ammunition, but they will also look great on any display shelf or can be taken to the trap range."
MSRP across the series is $10.99 per 25-shell box.
