Utah's SilencerCo has popped up with its first low backpressure or "flow-through" suppressor, the all-new hard-use 5.56 Velos LBP.

Designed specifically so that users will experience less gas blow-back in their face, the Velos LBP uses a 3D printed Inconel 625 core that is fully welded to 17-4 Stainless Steel front and rear modules. Utilizing a Hoplon Blast Baffle that deflects debris-- thus increasing the lifespan of the suppressor on short-barreled and full-auto firearms-- it has no barrel length restrictions as often seen in the fine print of other cans.

Weight is right under a pound, while the length is just 5.98 inches. Still, the advertised sound at the muzzle on average in SiCo's test was 137.1 dB with 5.56 NATO rounds.

The Velos ships with a Charlie flash hider front cap, Charlie ASR mount, ASR flash hider, spanner wrench, and Charlie tool. MSRP is $1,174, with shipping coming up later in the year.

"Our goal was to bring the best balance of sound performance, strength, and reduced impact to the host firearm’s operating system," says the company on the new can. "We’ve created a product that does just that. There is no compromising sound or flash performance with the Velos LBP. The inclusion of our Hoplon blast baffle design and no barrel restrictions confirms the Velos LBP will handle whatever you choose to throw at it. It’s the low back-pressure silencer your semi and fully-automatic firearms have been waiting for."
