When in Indianapolis last week, we made sure to visit the gang over at Springfield Armory and got to handle some interesting new catalog items for 2023.

First up was Springer's new 9mm Saint Victor pistol caliber carbine variant that runs Colt-pattern SMG stick mags for the win.

The use of the steel Colt-pattern mags in the Victor PCC's dedicated 9mm lower is a departure from a lot of other pistol-caliber ARs floating around that take polymer-bodied Glock double-stacks. However, as there are plenty of folks that make good aftermarket Colt SMG mags – C-Products, Duramag, Metalform etc. – there are a sizable number of options. (Photo: Guns.com)

Going past the magwell, the Saint Victor 9mm carbine uses a direct blowback system of operation and comes standard with a Melonite-coated 16-inch CMV 1:10 twist barrel. Receivers are 7075 T6 aluminum, while the trigger guard, pistol grip, and stock are by B5 Systems, the latter mounted on a six-position adjustable receiver extension. (Photo: Guns.com)

At the muzzle is the SA Forward Blast Diverter, recessed under the carbine’s free-floated, full-length aluminum handguard that includes a bunch of M-LOK slots for all the accessories a user could want. (Photo: Guns.com)

Springfield's new PCC ships with a single mag and has an MSRP of $1,299, a price point that curiously is $150 higher than its standard direct-impingement 5.56 Victor variants.

Lots of New Colors

Besides the 9mm Saint Victor, Springfield has updated its 5.56 NATO AR models to include three new colorways. New colors are Flat Dark Earth, Olive Drab Green, and Gray, each using a color dedicated furniture consisting of a Magpul MOE SL stock, MOE grip, trigger guard, and Angled Fore Grip.

First debuted in 2019, Saint Victors come standard with a 15-inch free floating M-LOK handguard with a full-length “interrupted” rail over a 16-inch CMV barrel, nickel boron single-stage flat trigger, flip-up irons, QD sling mounts, and a muzzle brake. Running a mid-length gas system, the line was only available in black until this update. (Photo: Guns.com)

MSRP across the new Saint Victor 5.56 line is $1,172, which is about $20 more than the all-black models.

Speaking of new colors and features, Springfield Armory recently announced a Flat Dark Earth expansion of its new 10mm XD-M Elite line, ready for optics right out of the box.

The company debuted the 16+1 capacity XD-M Elite 4.5 Optical Sight Pistol last May but only in a black matte finish. The new model brings that sweet FDE colorway that all the cool guys like these days. It retains standard features such as a 4.5-inch hammer-forged steel barrel and a slide milled for a micro red dot, along with Springer's META flat-faced trigger system, flared magwell, Tactical Rack U-dot rear sights paired with a fiber-optic front, and ambi slide stop.
