The additions include an A22 Takedown model in FDE – because everyone loves that tactical peanut butter – and the Model 64 Color Series, six bright offerings with what looks to be almost fluorescent synthetic stocks.
Offering a quick two-piece takedown with just a quarter twist and the ability to store extra mags in the stock, the Savage A22 was introduced in 2022. The new Flat Dark Earth model has all the same features including an 18-inch carbon steel, matte black barrel, a 10-round rotary magazine, and a 0 MOA Picatinny Rail with an iron sight channel thru rail.
"No other rimfire rifles bring the versatility and flexibility of the A22 Takedown,” said Beth Shimanski, Savage's Director of Marketing. "Weighing in at only 6 pounds and available in .22 LR, this rifle has been very popular, and the FDE option should help continue that momentum."
The MSRP on the A22 Takedown FDE is $479.
Model 64 Color Series
The Model 64 is one of the simplest rimfire repeaters on the market and has a price point that has made it an alternative to the Ruger 10/22 and Marlin Model 60 over the years. A straight-blowback action semi-auto with a single-stack 10-round detachable box magazine, it has a 21-inch barrel and open sights on a receiver that is grooved for tip-off style scope rings. However, it typically just comes in a black or camouflage synthetic stock or with wood furniture.
Well, until now.
The new Model 64 Color Series will include rifles in blue, green, orange, pink, purple, and a patriotic red-white-and-blue, all with the same features the little .22 LR has always had.
"The Model 64 is a staple for small game hunters and plinkers," said Shimanski. "We’re happy to offer six new color options in this accurate and fun semi-auto."
The MSRP for most of the Model 64 Color Series rifles will be $159, with the red-white-and-blue having an ask of $199. You can expect that to be less at retail.
