M2 Tactical

The Benelli M2 Tactical is a semi-automatic shotgun chambered in 12 gauge. The M2 Tactical takes a lot from the original model, but with features more appropriate for home defense or law enforcement.

Also, the M2 was also introduced as a new gun at the 2012 SHOT Show because it was fitted with National Firearms Act tactical configurations, meaning it comes with a 14-inch barrel and can be purchased through an authorized Class III Commercial dealer.

The M2 uses Benelli’s Inertia Driven System where recoil energy cycles the action. The bolt is semi-fixed until the backwards force, vibrating through the gun, arrives to the bolt housing, the vibration rattles the bolt and it slides back. As it travels back it pushes against the inertia spring and once compressed all the way, the spring then pushes the bolt forward.

This system is used instead of letting gas or the initial explosion drive the bolt back. And, since the gases can’t seep through into the chamber there won’t be any carbon-build up.

Optional features include adjustable ghost ring rear sights and a fixed blade front sight, or open sights. And, there are three stocks available. A standard synthetic stock, standard butt with pistol grip, or the ComforTech stock, which adds comfort and absorbs and dampens recoil.
