BT-99 Grade III

Browning BT-99 Grade III

The Browning BT-99 Grade III model is a single-shot break-action shotgun chambered in 12 gauge. Browning introduced the BT-99 line in 1969 and it now has eight variants. The BT-99 Grade III is unique in that it features a Monte Carlo Grade III/IV walnut stock.

The Monte Carlo stock offers a raised cheek comb. For aesthetics, the Grade III has gold accents and high-relief engraving and its barrel has silver nitride finish. And it also includes three interchangeable choke tubes.

Features include a blued steel receiver and a walnut stock with a satin finish. It has a back-bored barrel, meaning the bore diameter has been increased. This means less choke constriction is needed in order to achieve an intended shot pattern. It also comes with a Beavertail fore-arm. This style of fore-arm is wider than the standard fore-arm, and may help to absorb recoil.

An optional feature is an adjustable comb (add about $270) and it is available with either a 32″ or 34″ barrel.

Browning recommends the Grade III for American singles and handicap trap shooting.
