M1918 BAR

The Browning M1918 BAR is a fully automatic rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield, 6.5x55mm, .303 British, 7x57mm Mauser, and 7.92x57mm Mauser. The M1918 was designed by John Browning in 1917 and was used by U.S. troops in Europe during the country’s entry into the first World War. The gun was produced until the 1950s, and the original BAR rifle has sparked numerous variants. At just a shade under 16 pounds, the gun is tremendously heavy. Because of this, it was often fired from a bipod during combat.

The M1918 BAR features a rear leaf and front post sights with 100 to 1,500 yard range graduations.. The selective fire rifle utilizes a gas-operating system and fires from an open bolt. The gun uses a trigger mechanism to switch from semi-automatic fire to full-auto. The M1918 features a 24 inche barrel that is screwed into the receiver and not easily detached. Box magazines with a capacity of 20 rounds were most often used with the rifle.
