The Browning X-Bolt Composite Stalker is a bolt-action rifle chambered in 16 calibers. The gun comes with either a steel or stainless steel receiver. The Composite Stalker is one of 18 different variations on the X-Bolt rifle offered by Browning. The X-Bolt series is distinct for its three-level Feather Trigger system, which is screw adjustable from 3 to 5 lbs. and pre-set at approximately 3.5 lbs. An alloy trigger housing holds the chromed, steel components. Browning recommends the rifle for hunting.
The X-Bolt Stalker features a barrel that varies from 22″ with small calibers to 26″ with magnum calibers. The free-floating barrel is hand chambered and fitted with a target crown to protect the rifling and preserve accuracy after wear. The steel or stainless steel receiver comes in a matte blue finish, is glass bedded, and drilled and tapped for scope mounts. The rifle’s matte black-finished composite stock features textured gripping and Dura-Touch armor coating.
The X-Bolt Stalker’s bolt is set at a 60-degree lift. The detachable rotary magazine holds 3-4 shots depending on the caliber. The rifle also features a recoil pad and factory installed sling swivel studs. Though the receiver is drilled and tapped, the gun does not come with a scope or mounts.
