X-Bolt Varmint Special

Browning X-Bolt Varmint Special is a bolt-action rifle chambered in eight calibers. The Varmint Special utilizes an Altamont Paladin thumbhole stock which offers unique cooling vents cut in the forearm. The rifle is designed for prone shooting out of a bi-pod. The Varmint Special is one of 18 variations included in Browning’s X-Bolt family. The company recommends the gun for small game hunting.

The X-Bolt Varmint Special features 26″ barrel in every caliber but .223 Rem. and .243 Win., in which the barrel is 24″. The heavy barrel design is meant to enhance accuracy and comes with a matte blued finish. The stock is green laminated and has a stippled grip area. The rifle has a steel receiver finished in matte blue that is drilled and tapped for scope mounts.

The bolt is set at 60 degrees. The Varmint Special includes the X-Bolt’s signature Feather Trigger, a screw-adjustable trigger that can be set from three to five pounds. Other features include a recoil pad and sling swivel studs.
