The Varmint Stalker is distinct among the 18 different variations of the X-Bolt rifle offered by Browning because of its medium heavy barrel. The medium heavy barrel is meant to control whip, vibration and recoil to aid the shooter’s accuracy. Browning recommends the rifle for small game hunting, such as coyotes or prairie dogs.
The X-Bolt Varmint Stalker features a composite stock finished in matte black with textured gripping surfaces and Dura-Touch armor coating, meant to add to the grip stability of the rifle. The receiver is made of steel and has a low luster blued finish. The X-Bolt Varmint Stalker also features the X-Bolt’s signature adjustable Feather Trigger, which can be set from three to five pounds. When purchased from the manufacturer, the trigger comes set at approximately 3.5 lbs.
The Varmint Stalker features a 24″ barrel unless chambered for .22-250 Rem., in which the barrel is 26″. Additional features include factory installed sling swivel studs and a recoil pad.
