The CZ 452 Varmint is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .17 HMR, .22 LR, and .22 WMR. The Varmint model of the 452 is designed specifically for small game hunting, such as coyotes, wolves, foxes, and rodents. The Varmint is very close to the American model of the 452, only with a slightly shorter and heavier barrel.
All 452 models from CZ come factory-equipped with cold hammer-forged barrels and a trigger that is adjustable for poundage. A version of the 452 Varmint with a thumbhole stock is also available.
The 452 Varmint features a 21″ heavy barrel finished in blue. The rifle’s straight stock is Turkish walnut and features a heavier fore-end to support the barrel. The gun does not come with open sights, but the receiver features 11 mm (for .22 LR shooters) or 3/8″ (for .17 HMR shooters) dovetail grooves for sight or scope mounting. The gun has a detachable 10-round magazine and uses a manual firing pin block as a safety.
Česká zbrojovka translates as “Czech Army”, so it comes as no surprise then that CZ firearms has a long history of supplying weapons to militaries around the globe. The CZ name can be found on a variety of handguns, small bore and big bore rifles, military rifles and submachine guns.
