The CZ 527 Carbine is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .223 Rem. and 7.62x39mm. The Carbine is the distinct among the seven rifles that make up CZ’s 527 series because of its carbine barrel. The barrel is shorter than on other models and is meant to improve maneuverability in tight spaces.
A rifle with a carbine barrel is less effective for long distance shooting when accuracy is at a premium. The 527 Carbine most accurately resembles the Lux and FS rifle of the same series, sharing open sights and a Turkish walnut stock in the Bavarian pattern. CZ recommends the rifle for hunting.
The 527 Carbine features an 18.5″ cold hammer-forged barrel finished in blued. The walnut stock is a straight-line comb Carbine. The single-set trigger is adjustable. The rifle has fixed sights and integrated 16mm scope bases into the blued receiver. The gun utilizes a five-round detachable magazine.
Česká zbrojovka translates as “Czech Army”, so it comes as no surprise then that CZ firearms has a long history of supplying weapons to militaries around the globe. The CZ name can be found on a variety of handguns, smallbore and bigbore rifles, military rifles and submachine guns.
