DESCRIPTION

The G17 was Glock’s first commercially produced handgun for sale, and a leader in the polymer-framed pistol industry. Designed for law enforcement and military personnel, the G17, also known as the Glock 17, is a full-sized handgun chambered in 9mm, with the Glock 19 being its compact-sized counterpart.

Introduced in the early 1980s, the G17 can be found in several Generations and multiple variants, including a long slide model (G17L). Like all Glock handguns, the G17 is known for its unwavering quality and unsurpassed durability, ready to tackle whatever comes its way, even in the most unforgiving conditions. It remains a popular choice for personal protection.

G17 Gen 3

Further improving on the popular Glock 17, the G17 Gen 3 featurs a polymer frame with an accessory rail known as the “Universal Glock rail,” as well as thumb rests on both sides of the frame and finger grooves on the front strap. Later upgrades of this semi-automatic 9mm handgun included a modified extractor that doubled as a loaded chamber indicator, an enlarged locking block, and an extra cross pin.

G17 Gen 4

Introduced in 2010, nearly two decades after the release of the original Glock 17, the G17 Gen 4 is a semi-automatic handgun chambered in 9mm that features an upgraded recoil spring assembly and improved ergonomics, as well as a rough-textured frame and checkered grip for positive hold. The grip size of this pistol is slightly smaller than its predecessor, the G17 Gen 3, although the modular back strap allows for instant customization and fit for different hand sizes.

The enlarged magazine catch of the G17 Gen 4 can quickly and easily be changed to accommodate right- or left-handed shooters, while a built-in accessory rail makes for easy customizations.

G17 Gen 5

Further improving on ergonomics and reliability, the Glock G17 Gen 5 was introduced in 2017, is chambered in 9mm. Its lightweight design, reliability, and ease of use make it popular among law enforcement.

Improved features include an ambidextrous slide stop, nDLC finish on the barrel and slide, a flared magazine well, and the reintroduction of the half-moon shaped cutout on the front bottom of the grip. The magazines for the G17 Gen 5 were also redesigned to feature a frontward lip for easier extraction.
