PM9

The Kahr PM9 is a semi-automatic small-frame pistol chambered in 9mm. Kahr is one of the premier manufacturers of pistols and has lines for major calibers such as .45, .40, .380 and, of course, 9mm. The PM9 is just one line of small-framed pistols chambered in 9mm. Other Kahr 9mm subcompacts include P9 and MK9 and they are only slightly different.

Standard features on the PM9 include a locked-breech system where the backwards force is absorbed by the slide rather than the frame. Another feature that helps resist wear are stainless steel inserts lining inside of frame. The black polymer frame has a textured grip and is very lightweight. It weighs a sliver less than a pound loaded at 0.99 pounds. The overall width is 0.90″, so it’ll be slim easier to conceal comfortably. It has a double-action only trigger that sets off the action with a longer pull. It doesn’t have a safety, but it’s less likely something other than a trigger finger will pull a double-action trigger all the way back. It also has a passive striker block, which is an internal safety that prevents the gun from accidentally discharging if dropped (a model with an external safety is available). It comes with adjustable three-dot sights and two magazines: a 6 round and 7 round extended mag.

Optional features include tritium night sights (add about $120), a loaded chamber indicator that pops up when a round is chambered (Massachusetts approved and add about $140), a Crimson Trace laser sight (add about $205) and the slide is available in a stainless steel or blackened stainless steel finish (add about $50),

Kahr recommends the PM9 for concealed carry.
