The Marlin Model 338 Marlin Express Long Rifle is a lever-action hunting rifle chambered in .338 Marlin Express. According to the manufacturer, the Marlin 308 and 338 Express models are the only 300-yard chambering available in a traditional, tubular-magazine lever-action rifle.

The 338MXLR differs from the 338MX in that it has a longer barrel and an American black and grey laminated hardwood stock.

The 338MXLR features a side cartridge ejection port, a hammer block safety and stainless steel receiver, barrel, lever, trigger guard plate, magazine tube and loading gate. The 338MXLR features a rubber rifle butt pad, and employs an adjustable folding rear sight with a front sight brass bead and Wide-Scan brand hood.

The Model 338MXLR is recommended for large game hunting at long range.
